Parents Night

Nickerson School held a Parents night - Title I/Anti-bullying night on March 4th, 2009. "Pig out on Reading" Farmer Minor and Daisy the pig were our guests. Daisy is a pot-bellied pig who has traveled around 48 of the 50 states to encourage children to read.  The night was a huge success with 68 adults and 73 students in attendance.  Mrs. Boguen challenged the students to raise $100.00 in quarters to have our "Reading Wizard" Mrs. Kivel kiss the pig!  Our students met and beat that goal!

Take Time Program

This year for our Take Time to exercise program we will be walking the distance from Nickerson School to Tokyo Japan!  A total distance of 6,774 miles.  We hope to reach our goal by May 2009

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

Thanks to Linda Hartkopf, Nickerson School received the Fresh Fruits and Veggies Grant from the State of Maine.  Every Tuesday and Thursday Nickerson students are given fruits and veggies for snack.  The students help cut, wash, and preparethese snacks.  This has been a wonderful learning and healthy project.
