MSAD #34 Information Skills Curriculum
The MSAD 34 School Library Media Program is developed to ensure that students and staff are effective, independent users of ideas and information. To that end, students shall be provided with wide access to a full spectrum of informational sources in an environment that encourages an appreciation of reading and fosters curiosity leading to lifelong learning.
In collaboration with teachers and others, the library media teachers:
- Teach information literacy through the content areas.
- Enhance technology literacy through learning opportunities.
- Build reading literacy through reading incentive programs and collection development to engage student’s interests.
- Provide intellectual and physical access to an organized system of ideas, information, and resources.
