About Belfast Area High School
Belfast Area High School is located in a quiet, picturesque coastal comunity and is part of th Maine School Administrarive District #34, a district comprised of six communities - Belfast, Belmont, Morrill, Northport, Searsmont and Swanville. The year round population of these communities is approximately 12,000, with no significant change over the past ten years.
BAHS has several school business partnerships including theJobs for Maine’s Graduates. In addition, students attending the Waldo CountyTechnical Center complete internships with local businesses in trades such aschildcare, nursing, culinary arts, computer technology,and law enforcement. At this time,community service is not a graduation requirement, although it is a componentof the Academic Coaching Program during the junior year.
In accordance with our school’s mission statement, andthrough our Academic Coaching Program, all students will develop a four-yearacademic plan. Through this program, students will become effectivecommunicators, quality workers, problem solvers, life-long learners, andresponsible citizens. Student-led conferences, community service projects, andcareer exploration that culminate with a senior exhibition of their high schoolportfolios are Academic Coaching Program.
