SAT Testing for ALL Juniors
As I’m sure you are aware, all Juniors are required to take the SAT on Saturday, May 2nd.  All Juniors will register for the SAT in their homeroom sometime in March. The mandatory SAT is the replacement for the MEA and will be administered to all Juniors in the State of Maine on this date free of charge.

SAT Online Prep Course
All Juniors have been given access to PrepMe, an online SAT Test Preparation tool. In order to access this preparation software, students should log into the website www.prepme.com/maine, and claim their account. Following simple instructions they will be able to access incredibly valuable and personalized SAT prep material, in order to prepare for the SAT on Saturday, May 2nd.  We are encouraging all of our juniors to take advantage of this resource that is being given to them for free!
Welcome Maine Students!
How do I start?1. Go to http://www.prepme.com/maine.
2. Click the "Claim Account” button and follow the instructions. It's a breeze!
3. Done creating your account? You should be on the “My Courses” page. Click the “Go to Course” button to enter your course.
4. Watch the training video to understand how to use your program.
5. Complete the Diagnostic Test, which consists of a Writing, Reading, and Math section.
Each section contains 15-20 questions and will only take approx. 25 minutes to complete.
6. Select “Saturday May 2, 2009” in the drop-down box and click “Update Test Date”.
7. View your personalized, week-by-week schedule which assigns lessons, quizzes, and full-length practice tests.
8. Follow your schedule and accumulate points. Reach 800 points to qualify for a scholarship drawing.9. Ace the test in May!

BAHS Test Center for June 6 SAT
Belfast Area High School will also be a test center for the June 6th SAT. Contact the Guidance Office for more information if necessary. May 5th is the regular registration deadline for the June SAT. Students are encouraged to register online at www.collegeboard.com.

Scholarships
Scholarship applications will be available soon in the Guidance Office. Students should also check the website at www.sad34.net/bahs/guidanceoffice.

Seniors should be checking the Guidance Office frequently for new scholarships. For more information please contact Brooke Hutchins or Ruth Richards at ext. 263.
Junior InterviewsAll members of the class of 2010 are requested to set up an appointment with their counselor to discuss postgraduate plans. The counselors would like to meet with all of their students beginning in mid March. Students whose last name begins with:

NEACAC College Fair
Students in the class of 2010 will be invited to attend the college fair at the Augusta Civic Center on Thursday, May 14. Approximately 160 colleges and universities will attend, along with military representatives and a financial aid table. More details will follow later in the spring.

Advanced Placement Exams
Students in Advanced Placement Courses will soon receive information about the exams. The cost for each exam is $43. Students must register for the exams no later than March 25. Registration information will be dispersed in the AP classes. The AP exams will take place from May 4 – May 14.
