It is my pleasure as Superintendent of Schools to welcome you to the MSAD #34 district website. The staff, employees, and Board of Directors of our District are committed to the youth of this area and to the expressed mission of our District, “to Reach and Teach all Students”.
MSAD #34 is comprised of six communities, Belfast, Belmont, Morrill, Northport, Searsmont, and Swanville. We have six elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school all serving the 1895 students with a combined total of 318 adult staff.
Our District is committed to a high standard of academic excellence as exhibited by the success our students achieve. We have consistently maintained a drop out rate of 2-3% and annually approximately 67% of our high school seniors enroll in post secondary institutions of higher learning. We provide a Day Treatment program, an Alternative Education choice for high school students, a Pre-K program at four elementary schools, and are partners in the very successful Region 7 Vocational Technical School. Technology is provided at all levels and we are participants in the Maine MLTI project. The adult community is supported by our Adult Education Program and extensive extra-curricular and co-curricular programs at the middle and high schools assist in rounding out the students’
education.
We are very fortunate to enjoy tremendous community support by way of PTO’s, PTG’s, Booster Clubs, and many volunteers. The level of community support and involvement further indicates the commitment of our educational community to the future of our youth.
